Diagnostic and therapy of the complex regional pain syndrome

Our scientific studies of biological samples derived from CRPS patients demonstrated for the first time that the onset of CRPS is caused by autoantibodies against specific receptors, which activate these receptors and elicit, in the context of an autoimmune disease, neuronal inflammatory reactions.
Specific ligands a patent is applied for are now provided. The ligands interact with these autoantibodies in the blood, thereby neutralizing them considerably. Bound for example to column material, the specific ligands can be employed for the therapy as well as the diagnosis of the complex regional pain syndrome, and even be used for prophylaxis.
As standard technology for diagnosis, in particular immunofluorescence has proven to be of value. In general, also other applications are possible.
