ManyThe novel combination therapy, developed at the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, is based on a combined treatment strategy using glucocorticoids
combined with inhibitors of the proteasome . The new therapy effectively and significantly reduced edema formation and moreover significantly ameliorated neurological performance in mouse models of stroke and brain trauma.
