Anti Cancer Sandwich – Ferrocenophanes against tumors

The invention pertains to a new group of metallocenophanes

as potent cytostatic drugs. The Ferrocenophanes were designed by reductive coupling of special carbonyl groups with iron sandwich compounds. The new compounds obtained according to a new synthetic route represent potential candidates for the medical treatment of tumor diseases. Results on cell cultures (MTT Test) indicate pronounced cytotoxicity in pharmacologically relevant concent rations against L929 mouse fibroblasts and MCF-7 breast cancer cells.
