LUPUS: Improved quality of the weld seam of thick plates or pipes by using an innovative laser submerged welding technology.

The LUPUS-Process is a combination of laser welding with submerged welding. The laser beam and the arc interact in a combined welding area. The powder leaving the chute is kept away from the welding area by a separating plate or similar means. In comparison to the submerged welding technology this new laser process enables improved butt joints. The bridging of the seam is better as the one reached with laser welding.
