Treatment of nerve injuries with histones
This invention exploits the surprising and remarkable highly efficient nerve regeneration capabilities of histones, thus constituting an exceptionally interesting breakthrough for the treatment of nerve injuries. Histone application emerges from in vitro and in vivo studies as unprecedentedly useful both in the central and the peripheral nervous system for the treatment of traumatic, acute and/or chronic lesions, the regeneration of nerves and nerve function (including in neurodegenerative diseases), neuroprotection, enhancing formation of synapses and synaptic plasticity, as well as enhancing learning and/or memory.
