Pi-conjugated fluorine ionophor for determining alkali ions

This new class of fluorine ionophors offers economical access to a great number of fluorescence indicators for K+ and Na+ through simple variation of the fluorophor or ionophor group. The present invention enables the presence of K+ to be shown in even the smallest concentrations (the clinically relevant range, simulated physiological conditions).
