OPC-Select – One-step isolation of oligodendrocytes
The Oligodendrocyte Selection Kit is based on the
selective adhesion of oligodendrocytes to a substrate containing defined recombinant parts of the extracellular matrix protein tenascin-R (TN-R), which harbours a number of receptor-binding sites mediating cell adhesion and/or repulsion processe s. Briefly, primary cell su spensions derived from postnatal brain tissue are applied to a culture dish treated with recombinant TN-R fragments (PEP-dish) and after one day in culture, unbound cells are removed and adherent oligodendrocytes/oligodendrocyte progenitors are further propagated or differentiated under defined culture conditions.
