Covalently Encapsulated Nanoparticles
The invention described below consists of a procedure to produce and employ hollow nanocapsules. The nanocapsules are distinguished by the fact that their covalently-networked surface molecules are very stable. The reaction conditions are very moderate and through the proper selection of parameters, the resulting size of the nanocapsules can be determined. The use of block copolymers allows for the modification of the surface of the nanocapsules with various molecules, through which the solubility can be influenced.
