Synthesis of Carbohydrate Mimics

The invention permits to synthesize easily carbohydrate-C-N and glycosamine mimics from natural carbohydrate and glycol. The synthesized molecules can be used in the pharmaceutical industry, for example in the production of drugs containing carbohydrate or carbohydrate mimics. Moreover, such mimics can function as enzyme inhibitors or modulators in transport processes.
