Phosphorus Removal from Waste Water

The invention includes a procedure and an apparatus to purify waste water in small sewage treatment plants, and in particular, to remove phosphorus and its compounds through precipitation.

A reactor containing plastic granulates with encapsulated precipitant is inserted in the sewage treatment plant. When waste water flows through the reactor, the granulates slowly dissolve, releasing the precipitant.
