HiPer-Screw-High Performance Screw for single screw extruders
The HiPer-Screw allows a significant increase of extruder
output for a given screw diameter, simultaneously realizing low melt temperature and good homogeneity. The screw channel volume within the feeding zone is enlarged, thus minimizing resistance characteristics in the following sections. Therefore, a barrier flight between the two channels is not required. Accordingly, plastification is incomplete ahead of the shear mixer, which plays an important role within the residual plastification process. Within the melt zone, the screw channel is subdivided into two channels by means of a variation in channel depth, whereby the volume of the melt channel increases continuously towards the screw tip while the volume of the solid channel simultaneously decreases.
