TECALEMIT FLEXIBLES unveils eco-friendly tubes for industrial applications

06.11.2012
TECALEMIT FLEXIBLES, a specialist in flexible hoses for industry, will launch the innovative BBIO Universal TECALEMIT® tube, which is made from plastics of 100% biological origin and has technical qualities superior to tubes fabricated using petrochemical-industry products. The company will unveil the tube at the MIDEST trade show which will take place from 6 to 9 November in the Paris region of France.

TECALEMIT FLEXIBLES, a flexible-hose specialist that is based in France, will unveil a new tube for industry, the BBIO Universal TECALEMIT®. The tube, made from plastics of 100% biological origin, boasts technical qualities superior to those fabricated using materials from the petrochemical industry, but with the same production costs. BBIO Universal TECALEMIT® will be launched at MIDEST, a leading trade show for the industrial-subcontracting sector which will take place in the Paris region of France, from 6 to 9 November 2012.

The BBIO Universal TECALEMIT® tube is made from 100% polyamide Rilsan® T. The oil that is produced from grinding castor oil seeds is Rilsan® T's only component after both synthesis and polymerisation. This manufacturing process generates much less CO² and fewer greenhouse gases than in the production of polymers in the petrochemical industry.

In addition to this ecological benefit, the mechanical, physical and thermal advantages of TECALEMIT FLEXIBLES' tubes are also more significant than those fabricated using petrochemicals. This is because the company's tubes boast a higher operating pressure, improved flexibility and greater impact resistance than those made from traditional synthetic polymers.

Lightweight and impermeable, BBIO Universal TECALEMIT® tubes are resistant to abrasion and negative pressure, generating only very low pressure losses. Furthermore, the tubes are robust and therefore durable, which results in economic advantages for BBIO Universal TECALEMIT® users.

TECALEMIT FLEXIBLES tubes are also highly resistant to chemical agents, hydrocarbons and zinc chloride, even at low temperatures. A certain swelling may occur in aromatic hydrocarbons and alcohol, but this is without damage to the material.

The BBIO Universal TECALEMIT® tubes are rigorously calibrated and are available in various diameters, as well as in an assortment of colours. The tubes are produced in long lengths and are packed in sachets, boxes or reels of multiple 25-metre lengths.

About TECALEMIT FLEXIBLES

Since 1961, TECALEMIT FLEXIBLES has specialised in manufacturing pneumatic tubes for all engineering industries, providing solutions for transporting hydraulic fluids, as well as different kinds of connectivity.

TECALEMIT FLEXIBLES' products are supplied by a network of exclusive distributors that guarantee quality.

TECALEMIT FLEXIBLES will exhibit its new product, the BBIO Universal TECALEMIT® tube, at the MIDEST trade show for the industrial-subcontracting sector. The trade fair will take place at the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre from 6 to 9 November 2012 in the Paris region (France).

Im Focus: First quantum photonic circuit with electrically driven light source

Optical quantum computers can revolutionize computer technology. A team of researchers led by scientists from Münster University and KIT now succeeded in putting a quantum optical experimental set-up onto a chip. In doing so, they have met one of the requirements for making it possible to use photonic circuits for optical quantum computers.

Optical quantum computers are what people are pinning their hopes on for tomorrow’s computer technology – whether for tap-proof data encryption, ultrafast...

Im Focus: OLED microdisplays in data glasses for improved human-machine interaction

The Fraunhofer Institute for Organic Electronics, Electron Beam and Plasma Technology FEP has been developing various applications for OLED microdisplays based on organic semiconductors. By integrating the capabilities of an image sensor directly into the microdisplay, eye movements can be recorded by the smart glasses and utilized for guidance and control functions, as one example. The new design will be debuted at Augmented World Expo Europe (AWE) in Berlin at Booth B25, October 18th – 19th.

Im Focus: Artificial Intelligence Helps in the Discovery of New Materials

With the help of artificial intelligence, chemists from the University of Basel in Switzerland have computed the characteristics of about two million crystals made up of four chemical elements. The researchers were able to identify 90 previously unknown thermodynamically stable crystals that can be regarded as new materials. They report on their findings in the scientific journal Physical Review Letters.

Im Focus: Complex hardmetal tools out of the 3D printer

For the first time, Fraunhofer IKTS shows additively manufactured hardmetal tools at WorldPM 2016 in Hamburg. Mechanical, chemical as well as a high heat resistance and extreme hardness are required from tools that are used in mechanical and automotive engineering or in plastics and building materials industry. Researchers at the Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems IKTS in Dresden managed the production of complex hardmetal tools via 3D printing in a quality that are in no way inferior to conventionally produced high-performance tools.

Fraunhofer IKTS counts decades of proven expertise in the development of hardmetals. To date, reliable cutting, drilling, pressing and stamping tools made of...
