Aachen Polymer Optics Days 2014

“Aachen Polymer Optics Days 2014” will be hosted on April 8-9, 2014 by Fraunhofer IPT in cooperation with Fraunhofer ILT and the Institute of Plastics Processing IKV.

The international conference focuses on optical polymer components. Addressees of the event are participants from industry and research who are interested in manufacturing methods and the application potential of optical polymer products. Central to the conference are the following topics:

• Illumination optics
• Light guides
• Imaging optics
• Special optics
“Aachen Polymer Optics Days 2014” will deliver a clearly focused and structured insight into the technological limits of polymer optics. The application-orientated, interdisciplinary presentations will aim to explain developments along the manufacturing process chain of optical polymer components. Acclaimed experts from industry and research will discuss current technologies and will present their ideas for future polymer optics developments.

Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT

The aim of the Fraunhofer IPT is to develop new and optimize existing
solutions through practice-oriented research and development.
The Fraunhofer IPT transfers the results of this R&D directly
into practice in client companies, which come from a wide range
of industries – the automotive industries and its suppliers, especially
tool and die making, as well as fine-mechanics and optical
industries, aerospace industries and machine tool manufacturers.
Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT
The Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT, founded in
1985, is one of the most important contracting research and development
institutes of its sector worldwide. Its experts develop
and optimize laser beam sources and laser processes. In close
cooperation with its clients, it uses laser technology to solve tasks
for production, measurement technology, environment, energy,
medical technology and biotechnology.
Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) in Industry and the
Skilled Crafts at RWTH Aachen University
The Institute of Plastics Processing (IKV) is one of the biggest institutes
engaged in this field of research. In organisational terms,
IKV is divided up into the four specialist departments of Injection
Moulding, Extrusion and Rubber Technology, Part Design and
Materials Technology, and Composites and Polyurethane Technology.
