Microtips and nanotips and method for their production

UHH026/05.04.2011

The invention concerns a procedure for the production of tips by chemical growth, whose order of magnitude lies in the micro and/or nanometer range. In addition a Precursormaterial is brought in contact with a matrix and activated afterwards wide energetically (thermally or photolytisch). The needle-shaped tips can be used as construction units in microscopes, in particular scanning force microscope (SFM) or scanning nearfield optical microscope (SNOM).

Further areas of application are:
Micro probes for writing and selection of optical and magnetic data media, coining/shaping or master structures for casting or micromachining of soft surfaces, microelectrodes to the emission of electron radiation, micro fuel cells, electrolysis cells, crystallization tips, components of micro actuators, structure of functional surfaces.
