ESMT Annual Forum: CEOs discuss “The Future of Jobs” with international academics and policymakers

ESMT European School of Management and Technology in Berlin is holding the ESMT Annual Forum on “The Future of Jobs” today from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. The one-day conference gives opinion leaders from business, academia, and politics a platform to discuss future challenges of employment and the labor market.

As part of the event, Mario Draghi, president of the European Central Bank, will receive the ESMT Responsible Leadership Award at 5:30 p.m. “It is a great honor to receive this award. For the European Central Bank, its price stability mandate was, is, and will continue to be its first priority. Especially in times of challenge such as we are currently experiencing in Europe, it is important to always remain aware of the great responsibility leaders carry for citizens and states,” said Mario Draghi.

Mario Monti, 54th prime minister and senator-for-life of the Republic of Italy, will hold the laudatory speech. Benoît Coeuré, member of the executive board of the European Central Bank, will accept the award on behalf of Mario Draghi. Past recipients include the co-founder and chairman emeritus of Infosys Technologies N.R. Narayana Murthy; Güler Sabancý, chairman and managing director of Turkey’s Sabancý Holding; and Mario Monti.

Keynote speakers at this year's ESMT Annual Forum are Michael Diekmann (Allianz), Maria Åsenius (European Commission), and Daniel Stelter (The Boston Consulting Group). Other panel members include Ramu Damodaran (United Nations), Monika Hamori (IE Business School), Heinrich Hiesinger (ThyssenKrupp), Norbert Sack (Egon Zehnder), Johannes Teyssen (E.ON), Angela Titzrath (Deutsche Post), and Nicolas von Rosty (Siemens).

CEOs of leading global companies, together with renowned academics and policy makers, will debate the impact of migration on future jobs, job creation and growth in Europe, demands placed on managers, and the role of entrepreneurship in businesses and careers.

Jörg Rocholl, president of ESMT, said, “For this year's Annual Forum, we have brought together a variety of top experts to discuss solutions to urgent economic and socially relevant challenges. ESMT will continue to foster this discussion and provide a platform for international exchange in the future.”
