New event format: products2come aims to facilitate technology transfer in the life sciences

The idea grew from years of experience and discussions with technology transfer experts. “Finding the right partners to bring an innovation from the lab to the market takes a lot of time and effort as well as travelling costs”, explains Dr. Andreas Scriba who manages the products2come event.

“Bringing people from academia, SMEs and large companies together online at a distinctive date means that technology seekers can screen literally hundreds of offerings regardless of their location. Scientists can present their concept to a large audience without spending days out of the lab.”

At the core of this innovative concept is the combination of online presentations and bilateral 1-to-1 partnering meetings. Scientists and technology transfer agencies can submit innovations as of now. Experts from top biopharmaceutical, diagnostics and medtech companies will evaluate the abstracts.

The commercially most promising submissions will be selected for live online presentations on 24 and 25 March 2015. Technology seekers can screen all submitted abstracts starting from January 19. Both providers and seekers can then use the interactive partnering platform to schedule 1-to-1 online meetings during the event, discussing the technology offers and exploring opportunities for cooperation.

A special incentive is provided by the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft: The organization aims to motivate universities to participate in p2c.

The prize will be awarded to the German university which contributes the highest number of technology offers (proportionate to the size of the university) to the final programme. A cash prize of 5000 € will be awarded.

Submission of abstracts is open until December 12; the partnering platform opens on January 19, 2015.
