PRIMACYT Cell Culture GmbH Approved as EU Reference Laboratory for Alternatives to Animal Testing

This network is coordinated by the European Union Reference Laboratory in Ispra, Italy. It consists of fourteen European GLP certified testing facilities, including national research centers such as the Scientific Institutes of Public Health in Brussels, RIKILT the Institute of Food Safety, Wageningen, The Netherlands or the Spanish National Center for Microbiology, Madrid.

PRIMACYT is one of three German companies elected by the European Commission for participation in this network. As Dr. Dieter Runge, CEO & President of PRIMACYT said: “We are delighted with the appointment as new network partner. The PRIMACYT develops and markets in-vitro technologies that can contribute to the reduction of animal experiments. The Company was honored in 2008 with the Research Award of the Federal Ministry for Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection.

PRIMACYT Cell Culture Technology GmbH ist member of BioCon Valley Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e.V.

Products and services of the young company focus on HEPAC2, a standardized and validated serum-free cell culture system for human hepatocytes. A prime field is the development of pharmaceuticals.
