Genome of epidemic E. coli strain solved
Using latest third generation sequencing technology genetic evidence was created explaining the virulent potential and augmented antibiotic resistance of the current outbreak strain.
The data obtained will allow the development of tailored diagnostic tests for rapid and precise detection of the current outbreak strain.
In addition, genomic data will help to understand the epidemic potential and extensive virulence of the novel STEC strain.
