Innovation award winners in the Baltic Sea Region

The objective of the award is to boost the commercial utilization of the ideas arising from the clinical environment and the healthcare researchers in the Baltic Sea Region.

The four ideas and the winners are:

Innovation: Oxygen Soother – an adaptor for oxygen tubes mounted on a
soother ensuring the right amount of oxygen under recovery phase, a
challenge not solved effectively by available products
Team: Aalborg Hospital Ideas Clinic (DK), www.ideklinikken.dk
Innovation: Dr Modz – A user-friendly blood glucose meter for juveniles
and, a unique disease management system for type 1 diabetes care.
Team: MODZ Oy (FI), www.bloomjack.com
Innovation: GoodLife – Tools for occupational Well Being. The
innovativeness behind GoodLife micro wellness solutions comes from sports
psychology/coaching and published brain research results combined with
game development.
Team: GoodLife (FI)
Innovation: An innovative aspirator device, coming in the form of a
finger-affixed aspirator tip, for dental care units.
Team: ErgoFinger (FI)
Chairman of the award jury Riikka Paasikivi, program director at
Culminatum Innovation Oy (FI) says “The Jury received many promising
innovations ranging from very early stage to products already on test
markets. Some of them originated from clinicians daily work and were
improvements to existing products or processes. The jury emphasized the
clinical need and the market potential of the innovation when choosing
the winners”.
