Surgery made easy with new Siemens technology

With this generation, surgical workflows have been optimized through numerous improvements. These include, for example, the new ergonomic monitor trolley and the easy user interface. Also an intelligent algorithm automatically adjusts and optimizes the image quality. All systems are suitable for broad clinical applications: in orthopedics, trauma and neurosurgery as well as gastroenterology, vascular and cardiac surgery or in urology.

The new generation of the Arcadis C-arm family includes such systems as Varic, Avantic and Orbic (Orbic 3D) that have been successfully used in their initial version in hospitals around the world. These mobile C-arms of Siemens are based on syngo, an intuitively operated Siemens software platform that facilitates clinical workflows in many ways. For example, with syngo it is possible to view images from other modalities, store acquired images to archives or external storage media such as CD, DVD or USB and select up to 200 default examination programs. To continuously improve the clinical workflow, the user interface integrates a basic menu to accelerate system operation and an extended menu for more complex requirements. Different automatic image algorithms that regulate brightness, contrast and dose, provide the physician with optimal image quality.

System operation is further facilitated by an ergonomically optimized and easily manageable monitor trolley with monitor screens that can be adjusted in height and rotated by 180 degrees in the horizontal.

For surgical navigation, the physician is provided with innovative navigation technology.

The NaviLink interface is available for three-dimensional navigation and NaviVision for an integrated navigation platform. In this way, intraoperative images of the Arcadis system are combined with high-precision, surgical navigation systems.
