Preventing Struvite in Wastewater With Calcium Silicate Hydrate

This invention relates to the prevention of struvite deposition at wastewater treatment
plants with biological phosphorus removal. For this purpose calcium silicate hydrate (CSH) is dosed direct into the digestion tower. The CSH stays in suspension. This enables a long reaction time for CSH absorbing phosphate even if it is incipiently blocked.
