Protein Substitution Therapy: Breakthrough in Rett Syndrome Care

Rett Syndrome (RTT), is a progressive neurodevelopmental disorder which affects almost exclusively females, and it is one or the most common causes of mental retardation. Scientists at the University of Göttingen developed a designed recombinant MeCP2 protein for a RTT substitution therapy, which already has been tested in first in vivo experiments.
