Detecting Phase of Biosignals: New Method Enhances Diagnostics
The phase of biosignals (e.g. visually evoked potentials) is one of the basic decisive diagnostic parameters of functional diagnostics (of the visual system). For instance, a phase that is extended compared to a healthy object is an important indicator that the examined biological system has functional problems.
The prior art methods have the disadvantage that the statistic uncertainty of detection or the inaccuracy of the measurement is very high. The said invention encompasses a method and an arrangement that allow for detecting and measuring a causal phase response in periodic biosignals faster and with greater reliability compared to conventional methods while simultaneously reducing the computational time.
