New Method for Producing Dental Implants at Saarland University
At the Ceramic Institute of Saarland University a new method was developed to produce a pivot tooth which realises the adaptation of the E modulus of the bone to the implant, thanks to a structure with a gradient in its porosity.
This novel method is based on electrophoresis, as the movement of the particles in an electrical field does not depend on its size. Therefore mixtures of powder can be used in order to get a high packing density.
