Diabetes is the 2nd most common disease in industrialized countries. Identification of markers for the prediction of the clinical course of diabetic patients is a major challenge in disease management. Scientists at the University of Göttingen identified novel biomarkers in urine for the diagnosis of diabetic nephropathy (DN).
