New Salmonella DIVA Vaccine for Pigs Boosts Food Safety

Food-borne salmonella infections are mostly arising from poultry or pigs. While actions have been taken for poultry there has only been minor success for a pig vaccine. Scientists at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover developed a marker vaccine for pigs, which allows differentiation of vaccinated and infected animals.
