ART 4 … OUR NATURE

At the Atelier Natália Gromicho in Lisbon, objects by an artist who donates a large number of his unique pieces to non-profit campaigns for the benefit of selected nature conservation projects can be purchased for the first time in an art exhibition from 4 to 11 February 2023.
The artist, Bruno Wilbert, born in Germany in the year 1956, has been living on the island of Madeira in the Atlantic Ocean for 4 years. The impressive nature on this island inspired him to start the project ART 4 … OUR NATURE to motivate people to do more to protect nature and give something back to the earth.

Since art is also communication, in recent years the artist has mainly created art objects that are intended to encourage people to think and take positive action, starting with a large-format sculpture called “Hope” and ending with small-format acrylic objects from his title series MAXIMINIMALISMUS. An employee of an internationally active environmental and nature conservation organisation thanked him for his commitment and wrote to him about it: “It is not art to destroy our livelihoods, but it takes art to draw attention to it“.
In order to be able to efficiently promote some nature conservation projects, Bruno Wilbert makes a large number of his art objects available for non-profit actions. For one of these actions, he designed an extremely compact MONO stand object. He gave the abstract subtitle “GOLDEN SIGNALS OF NATURE” to the finely structured objects, as he had been fascinated for years by the idea that trees can communicate with each other by means of electrical signals via a network of fungi and roots under the surface of the earth.
His typically finely structured, multi-layered painting backgrounds of canvas and gesso, his very special painting techniques as well as the strongly reduced picture compositions with the high-contrast rear object areas, create special interactions and give the objects a high radiance and depth effect.
Through his non-profit actions, guests of committed galleries also receive these objects at reduced prices and 100 % of the profits generated benefit selected nature conservation projects. There is a conscious decision not to generate profits in order to motivate as many people as possible to gladly support important nature conservation projects.
