HIV and Tuberculosis: International Symposium on the Fight Against Two Major Killers

On invitation of the Koch-Metchnikov-Forum and the World Health Summit, about 70 experts from 10 countries will meet in Berlin on March 20 and 21, 2014, to discuss the current situation and newest strategies to fight HIV-TB comorbidity.

Among them will be representatives from WHO, Charité – University Medicine Berlin, the Russian Ministry of Health, and representatives from institutes for Tuberculosis in Russia, Moldova and Georgia. 

The first symposium of the Koch-Metchnikov-Forum on this topic was organized on the occasion of World Tuberculosis Day 2007, commemorating the 125th anniversary of Robert Koch’s lecture about the etiology of Tuberculosis. Since its inauguration in 2009, the World Health Summit supports the Koch-Metchnikov-Forum in its efforts to fight Tuberculosis.

To intensify the constant cooperation, the eighth scientific symposium, held on occasion of the World Tuberculosis Day 2014, is being organized in close collaboration. Its outcomes will be presented at the World Health Summit 2014, held from October 19-22 in Berlin.
