Device for material testing

The invention addresses the structural change of the ultrasound transducer for an ultrasonic reflection and transmission measurement.

The core of the invention is a novel constructive design of the ultrasound transducer in a U-shape with a plurality of elements attached to the inside of the ultrasonic transducer. Thus an examination of irregularly shaped specimens and strong ultrasound absorbing materials is possible. Additionally, the device has a constant supply by a coupling medium, which is driven by pumps. Openings on the inside of the device to supply the test specimen and the ultrasonic transducer elements with a suitable medium and ensure the coupling of the materials.
