Science and Technology of Advanced Materials journal sees a 2.54 times increase in the Impact Factor in 2008 – 2010

The impact factor of the journal, Science and Technology of Advanced Materials (STAM) has risen from 1.267 in 2008 to 3.220 in 2010. This impressive increase clearly demonstrates the importance of STAM to the materials science community worldwide. STAM is published by the National Institute for Materials Science in Tsukuba, Japan, in partnership with Institute of Physics Publishing, UK.

According to Thomson Reuters, STAM now ranks 34th out of 222 journals in the category of Materials Science & Multidisciplinary worldwide, and is ranked 1st among materials science journals in Japan.

Launched eleven years ago, the journal offers an open access platform – free to submit, free to read – for the rapid dissemination of high-quality research papers and review articles for the global materials science community.

The journal has broadened its scope from metals, alloys and ceramics—areas which are of traditional interest for NIMS and Japanese materials scientists—to nanobiomaterials, organic conductors, superconductors, nanoelectromechanical systems, degradation of polymers and other environmental topics.
