Novel Catheter Design Enhances Dissection Membrane Procedures

The procedure focuses on two catherers, one of which is exhibited in a real and the other one in the false lumen, for instance by A brachiali. If the catheter tips are situated at the same length, permanent magnets are pushed forward by both catheters, which should occlude the dissection membrane. The bigger magnet indicates a bar through which a measles-shaped knife is conducted. The occluded membrane can be separated with a knife at the height of the magnets, whereas the small magnet serves as a counter bearing. It is feasible to use a catheter consisting of two lumina and enabling an injection of a contrast medium also upon the placement of the both magnets.
