At the Ceramic Institute of Saarland University a new method for production of two and three dimensional moulds was developed by means of electrophorese. This technique consists in deposition of oxidal and ceramic nanoparticles on a porous form, which has a female form of the separate mould that is formed later. Common materials, such as polysterene or polyether qualify very well for a material used to produce a porous form.
