Invention concerning surgical drapes

The invention concerns a surgical drape, espacially for surgical interventions on the brain or head.

These novel drapes are provided to cover two areas. First the sterile cover of the area of surgery and additionally the steril cover for a surveying system, espacially with infrared radiation. Previous drapes, espacially for sugeries on the brain or head have only one fenestration in the area under the contact area of the patients head. Today two- or three- dimensional navigation systems are used for head surgeries. These navigation systems needs a reference point to identify the position of the area of surgery. Because of that, the navigation system has to be in permanent interaction to the reverence point. To perform the task, the reverence point shoud be as near as possible on the area of surgery and be cover sterile.
