Special exhibition area "Microtechnologies for Optical Devices" establishes itself at W3

IVAM bundled micro technologies for optical technologies on a joint stand at W3. IVAM

After the successful premiere of the special exhibition area “Microtechnologies for Optical Devices” last year, the IVAM Microtechnology Network once again bundled high-tech suppliers for optical applications at a joint booth.

Micro- and nanotechnology are of particular importance in the production, positioning and coating of optical products. These technologies are also regularly used for refinement and quality control of optical components.

Diverse spectrum of microtechnology
The spectrum of innovations presented in the special exhibition area ranged from micro injection molded parts, customized silicon photodiodes and arrays, miniaturized IR emitters, 3D surface metrology and plasma process technology to thin film metrology and ultrasonic cleaning systems. Services in the field of patent law were also presented.

The co-located trade experts’ forum, right next to the IVAM area, was well attended by exhibitors and visitors alike. The topics on site included optics and photonics presentations, innovation management, design and product development, DIN standards, industry 4.0, internationalization and various user markets, such as medical technology.

Trend topics micro-optics, laser technology and photonics

“We currently see significant advances within microtechnology through optical technologies. For this reason, it is becoming increasingly important to open up networking opportunities between developers, researchers and manufacturers of miniaturized components. W3 offers good conditions for this”, explains IVAM's managing director Dr. Thomas Dietrich.

The IVAM Microtechnology Network will again be hosting the special exhibition area “Microtechnologies for Optical Devices” at the W3 Fair+Convention in Wetzlar in 2021. Companies that would like to participate can register now for a participation.
