Phyto-manufacturing, also called molecular farming, is the process of producing useful substances by means of plants. Such substances include glucosinolates, whose beneficial effects on human health have been proven. Combining nutritional and pharmaceutical value, they can be used as “nutraceuticals”. Whereas common phyto-manufacturing processes consist of several steps, the present invention allows glucosinolates to be produced in a single step.
