eDevice of France has developed IDeMS, a completely new gateway for M2M fleet management that is accessible via a standard internet browser. It uses eDevice M2M modules to manage a fleet of systems connected via TCP/IP. IDeMS (Intelligent Device Management System) network and fleet-management services provide an immediately operational turnkey solution to maintain, supervise and run a complete M2M fleet.
The IDeMS fleet-management service can be used to recover, consolidate, archive and publish the data produced by all the remote items of equipment in an machine-to-machine (M2M) fleet. All IDeMS software modules can be customised to adapt to specific requirements and provide a complete turnkey solution, from connecting the equipment to the internet to processing the information acquired.
IDeMS network services remove limitations created by IP address-attributing policies on LAN, PSTN/POTS and GPRS networks, by allowing M2M equipment fitted with dynamic or private IP addresses to be permanently accessible, while also lowering communication costs.
In the medical sector, IDeMS can be used to organise the circulation of schedules for maintenance or home hospitalisation for patients, providing the technical communication equipment needed for one or more practitioners to monitor each person remotely. eDevice M2M modules installed on medical home monitoring equipment transmit periodic readings or alerts to IDeMS, which are archived and retransmitted after analysis to the practitioners concerned. The data log is accessible in a secure form using an https (SSL) connection.
