3% more academic staff at higher education institutions
Based on provisional figures, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that this was an increase of 2.8% from 2013.
Compared with the previous year, the number of staff who performed a primary job in that area increased by 1.2% to 236,100, while the number of people who did it as a secondary job was up 5.5% to 144,100.
