Nord-Pas-de-Calais shines with engineering excellence at Hannover fair

Attended by professionals from all over the world, the Hannover trade fair (known as Hannover Messe in German) is the international event of reference for industry and technology; this year, it will be held in the Northern German city at the end of April (from 23 to 27). Subdivided into eight fairs, it is the ideal forum for innovation in engineering and manufacturing, with a wide range of sectors covered.

Under the banner of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, a key French region for the mechanical-engineering sector, the French Pavilions will feature seven established players. The French Pavilions are supported by CCI International Nord de France, set up by the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, and by MECANOV, a regional high-technology cluster specializing in the mechanical-engineering sector.

In Northern France, the sector represents 45,000 employees working in 1,500 companies: this places Nord-Pas-de-Calais in fourth place, nationwide, in terms of the size of its mechanical-engineering industry. The main automotive and railway manufacturers, who are established in the region, benefit from the local workforce's proven expertise.

Companies from Nord-Pas-de-Calais at the Hannover fair will be present in the Industrial Supply, Mobilitec, GreenTec and Energy halls, which reflects the breadth of the industry across Northern France. A regional pavilion (Hall 4, Stand A42) will supplement the stands occupied by the various exhibitors (listed below). A full and detailed catalogue of exhibitors is available upon request.

ACIERIE ET FONDERIE DE LA HAUTE SAMBRE

This company (Hall 4, Stand A42) specializes in hand-mould castings weighing from 1kg to 3,500kg, with applications ranging from energy (oil, nuclear and gas), water and desalination plants to chemicals, petrochemicals and security.

Nissan chose DBT for the production of its new quick chargers (QC) and asked the French company to take part in the Nissan Leaf tour of Eastern Europe (whereby DBT took care of the charging-up of the demonstration cars). DBT has also been picked by E-Laad, a Dutch consortium, to manufacture 350 charging stations to be set up across the Netherlands.
