Innovative automobile technology at the 19th World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems

Aisin Seki Co., Ltd and three Aisin Group companies [1-2] will exhibit their latest innovative ITS technology at the 19th World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) in Vienna, at the Aisin Group booth.

The Aisin Group exhibition will introduce innovative ITS technology demonstrations and exhibits on the following themes:

– Technology for warning of immediate danger and risk during driving
– Technology to eliminate careless mistakes during driving
– Technology for protecting the safety of drivers themselves
– Touch pad operation-based GPS navigation system (exhibit)
– Technological support for environmentally friendly driving (exhibit)
In addition to demonstrations and exhibits, technical staff from the Aisin Group will present their latest research findings on the following topics:
– Universally easy-to-read color tone technology
– Technology for preventing 'wrong-way driving' (opposite direction to normal flow of traffic) on expressways.
– Obstacle avoidance braking technology

Details
The Aisin Group booth will exhibit a danger-warning and response system that monitors and evaluates a driver’s heart rate, breathing, and eyelid and face movement. If the system detects any irregular behaviour then the system automatically takes control of the vehicle, reduces its speed and brings it safely to a halt on the shoulder of the road. This system exemplifies the ‘total comprehensive power’—sensors, steering control, system integration—offered by the Aisin Group of companies at the exhibition.
