Quality Monitoring for Bypass Surgery
The invention enables surgeons to monitor the quality of anastomosed vessels by measuring the blood pressure above and below the junction. Fiber-optic sensors measure the pressure differential which indicates the porosity of the junction. The invention is to be further developed to permit pressure measurement outside the vessels.
