Monolithic columns with immobilized avidin for liquid chromatography

Recent thrusts in the area of life sciences and pharmacy necessitate the need for developing improved analytical strategies especially in the area of protein purification and characterization. Among other methods, affinity chromatography has been established during the past few years. In this context, the avidin/biotin system possesses outstanding importance. The inventive solution describes novel chromatographic column consisting of monolithic materials, to which monomeric avidin is attached.
