Antitumoral Cyclodepsipeptides

This invention concerns two novel cyclodepsipeptides, scopularides A and B, from the fungus Scopulariopsis brevicaulis, which was isolated from the marine sponge Tethya aurantium. The scopularides do not belong to any existing group of natural cyclodepsipeptides and inhibit the growth of several tumor cell lines, while having no significant effect on bacterial or yeast growth.
