Elsevier partners with tissue viability society

Under the agreement, Elsevier will assume publication of Journal of Tissue Viability, official journal of the Tissue Viability Society (http://www.tvs.org.uk/) from January 2008.

Journal of Tissue Viability is concerned with all aspects of the occurrence and treatment of wounds, ulcers and pressure sores including patient care, pain, nutrition, wound healing, research, prevention, mobility, social problems and management. The journal’s audience includes various professions involved in tissue viability; primarily nurses but with many doctors, engineers, scientists, pharmacists, podiatrists and other professions also represented.

Dr Mike Clark, Editor, said “The Tissue Viability Society is excited by the agreement with Elsevier to publish the Journal of Tissue Viability. This will enable the Journal of Tissue Viability to reach a wider audience of wound healing professionals world-wide so strengthening the reputation of the Journal. The journal content will be printed at a faster pace and will also be accessible electronically together with other Elsevier journals. In addition, the submission and the reviewing of all manuscripts will be web-based, supported by Elsevier. This new procedure, which will be implemented shortly, will drastically reduce the reviewing process time and will be more cost-effective for the Journal.”

Members of the Tissue Viability will continue to receive the print edition of Journal of Tissue Viability as a benefit of membership. In addition, members will be able to access the entire contents of each issue online. Other online features will include a comprehensive search engine, allowing users to search JTV alone, or to include hundreds of other Elsevier journals in a single query; options to sign up for e-mail alerts; and more. The Journal will be accessible through Elsevier's online database, ScienceDirect, the world's largest electronic collection of science, technology and medicine full text and bibliographic information.
