Tractive Effort Tests in Great Belt Tunnel Successful

A total of four tractive effort tests were performed with the multi-system locomotive. Although coupled to 36 freight cars and weighing a total of 2,011 metric tons, the multi-system Class ES64F4 had no trouble starting out of the tunnel.

The 8-km-long tunnel in the Great Belt Fixed Link in Denmark is decisive above all for certification to operate in Denmark.

This is third time Siemens has tested one of its Eurosprinter locomotives on this reference line. This route section is seen as a bottleneck for transit freight traffic between Germany, Denmark and Sweden.
