PhysioStim offers cardiac pharmacological model for compound assays

Testing to detect any possible risk of cardiac toxicity induced by pharmaceuticals is crucial during the preclinical R&D stage. PhysioStim has solid and reliable expertise in this highly specialised area, particularly with hERG assays – potassium channels that are essential in cardiac repolarisation problems.

However, in order to obtain a much more comprehensive and integrative approach to cardiac problems, PhysioStim’s experts also offer cardiac action potential recordings, which mimic in vitro the electrophysiological properties that are observable in vivo.

The isolated cells obtained show the proteinic structures and the physiological and biochemical properties preserved, with the advantage of providing a population of cells without neuronal or hormonal influence in a totally controllable environment.
