Cooperation between leading Supercomputer Centers in Switzerland and US Exchanging expertise and experience
Under the agreement, the organisations will exchange staff for work on specific projects of mutual interest with the goal of sharing and furthering the scientific and technical know-how of both institutions. Both centers share a common technological focus, having selected Crax XT supercomputers as thier primary systems after throrough review of various systems.
The MOU, signed in January 2008, capitalises on the the organisational and operational similaritites of the Swiss and US computing centers.
CSCS is the largest supercomputing center in Switzerland. It is managed by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich). NERSC is the US Department of Energy’s flagship facility for computational science.
