Large Farm Management 2013: Know-how for large agricultural holdings

More than 500 participants are anticipated to attend the international conference ‘Large Farm Management: Organization and Strategy’ in Kiev, Ukraine, on 19 and 20 September. The event will be held for the fourth time and is deemed in CIS states and in Europe as the leading forum for discussing issues and problems of large farm management.

The conference is hosted by the Association Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) with support of IAMO and the Federation of German Industries' Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations. Interested parties are invited to register.

High-profile keynote speakers will introduce four panel discussions which will deal with the following main topics:

• Global development trends in agricultural productivity: What is the importance of farm size?
• Productivity and know-how: How to achieve maximum yields?
• Human resources: Successful qualified staff recruitment and retention schemes
• Effective governance structures for modern agribusiness: Priorities and challenges

A field trip is scheduled for the second conference day. Participants will visit the Industrial Milk Company, an agricultural holding with properties of 140 000 hectares of land and 3 000 dairy cows. In addition, the conference provides opportunities of meeting and discussing with many senior executives and representatives of farm businesses, food producers, government and research institutions.
