The Value Creation Potential of High-Tech Materials

The title of the 13th Chemnitz Textile Technology Conference (CTT) is “Value Creation Opportunities with Textile Technology”.

The international conference will take place at Chemnitz University of Technology on 14 – 15 March 2012. “A basic understanding of textile production and finishing processes is required for the rapid advances in the use of textile-based high-tech materials like composites, preforms and complex structural components in many areas. Our next conference will communicate this expertise both in an interdisciplinary and practical manner,” Dr. Wolfgang Nendel, Chairman of the Cetex Chemnitz Textile Machine Development Association (Cetex e. V.), announces.

The main topic areas will be “Resource Efficient Machines and Processes”, “Finishing and Functionalization”, “Semi-Finished Products and Preform Technologies”, “Procedures for Process Controls and Tests”, “Composites in Lightweight Design” and “Process and Structure Simulation”. Speakers can submit their suggestions for papers at the http://www.chemtextiles.de website by 30 June 2011. The language of the conference will be German. There will be a company and poster presentation.

270 specialists from seven different countries attended the 12th CTT in November 2009, including more than 100 from different branches of industry. The Cetex Association is organising the conference in conjunction with the Institute of Lightweight Structures and Sports Technology (IST) as well as the Institute of Conveyor Technology and Plastics (ifk) at Chemnitz University of Technology, the Saxon Textiles Research Institute (STFI) and the North-East German Textile and Clothing Industry Association (vti).
