ROBA®-quatrostop – the extremely compact multiple circuit brake

The new, redundant ROBA®-quatrostop with its four individual brake circuits brakes gently and exceptionally quietly.<br>

Doubled safety using redundancy also means double the braking torque on systems with two brake circuits – an enormous strain for all components. The brakes manufacturer from Mauerstetten in Germany, mayr® power transmission, has solved this problem by developing a new, multiple circuit stage brake, the ROBA®-quatrostop.

The new safety brake for film, theatre and stage facilities is redundant without doubling the braking torque. This brakes system brakes gently, is gentle on attachment parts and saves costs through easier connection constructions. The ROBA®-quatrostop stage brake runs extremely quietly. It has four individual brake circuits, which are integrated into a compact, extremely short brake block. Three brake circuits together produce the required braking torque. The fourth, redundant circuit ensures the necessary safety. The braking torque is therefore only increased by 33 percent. All braking circuits can be switched and tested individually.

The ROBA®-quatrostop is an electromagnetic, spring applied safety brake. After switching off the power, on power failure or on EMERGENCY OFF, it allows reliable and safe stops in any position. The compact design ensures simple handling and installation. The working air gap is set at the manufacturing plant and need not be re-adjusted during operation. This means that functional errors due to operating and adjustment errors are prevented in advance by the design.

For maximum system and personal safety, each brake circuit is equipped with a release monitoring system for functional control. Stage brakes from the construction series ROBA®-quatrostop are mainly maintenance-free. The maintenance work is limited to the inspection of friction linings, which are extremely wear-resistant and achieve an extremely high lifetime.

Safety does not permit compromises. mayr® power transmission are international leaders in the development, production and implementation of safety brakes for theatre, film and stage facilities. Extremely quiet-running stage brakes by mayr® power transmission make a daily appearance at numerous events in very different locations all around the world. Based on 40 years of expertise in safety brakes, wide field experience in many thousands of applications and a very wide product range, the company provides technically perfect, economical and extremely low-noise solutions.
