Vectron receives homologation for Austria
Preliminary homologation has already been issued in Sweden. The homologation process is also underway for further nations, including Switzerland, Italy and The Netherlands.
The rolling stock leasing company, Railpool, will be the first operator able to deploy its Vectron locomotives for cross-border passenger and freight services in Germany and Austria. Railpool was the first company to opt for the newly developed Vectron at the end of 2010.
The locomotives operated by Railpool have a power output of 6,400 kW and are designed to run at speeds of up 200 km/h. They are also equipped with the European Train Control System (ETCS).
